Dr. Sherwani: My family all were medical doctors, so just going to a dentist in childhood, growing up, just was interested in it somehow, and I had no other background or no one in the family with dentist or anything. So, when I started dental school, didn't really still know what I was getting into. But first, the second there when I got in the clinicals, really liked it. To see the change, like patient coming in either in pain or something broken, and you can do that within hour or two hour, and try to change it, fix it. I think that is a big thing in dentistry, which I enjoy every day.
I would say the most rewarding part of being a dentist is when the patient comes in with, for example, a broken tooth, and you can change it within that half hour to one hour care, depending on what the need was at that time, and making them comfortable to go back again, go on their business. That is ... you can see the change.
Dr. Palwasha Sherwani became a dentist because she wanted the opportunity to interact with and help people. Her favorite part of her job is meeting our patients and doing her best to help them have positive dental experiences. She makes this happen through her gentle approach and good listening skills.
Dr. Sherwani became our newest dentist when she joined our practice in 2018. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Marquette University, then graduated from Marquette’s School of Dentistry in 2004. Dr. Sherwani completed her residency in general dentistry at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee and has now practiced dentistry for 14 years.
In her spare time, Dr. Sherwani likes to cook and spend time with her family. She has five kids and has lived in the Fort Smith area since 2005.
